Brita's Ultra water system not only improves the flavor of tap water for drinking and cooking, it also purifies it. Brita packages two replacement water filters together to ensure that your water filter continues to function properly and that great-tasting water keeps flowing. Contaminants such as asbestos, cryptosporidium, and giardia are removed--as long as the filter is changed regularly. These filters fit readily on the Brita Ultra Faucet Filter, which is sold separately. --Lynne Sampson |

The Brita On Tap faucet filter, the most effective BRITA filter, may help avoid certain health risks like cancer, certain parasitic illnesses such as cryptosporidiosis and giardiasis, as well as kidney and liver damage and anemia by reducing such impurities as cryptosporidium, giardia, lead, asbestos, and benzene that may be present in your tap water. It also reduces the following harmful herbicides and pesticides. The On Tap faucet filter also eliminates bad tastes and odors by reducing chlorine (taste and odor) and hydrogen sulfide. Brita On Tap faucet filters should be replaced every 100 gallons or every four months, whichever comes first. If youre unsure how long its been, not to worry--the Brita On Tap faucet filter has a built in filter replacement indicator that flashes red when you need a new filter. |

Budding ballerinas ages 4 to 6 receive a thorough introduction to ballet at the tutelage of "Miss Rosemary" Boross in Baby Ballet. The program features Rosemary Boross, a student helper, and a small class of preschool age dancers as they explore the basics of warming up at the barre, stretching, center work, dancing across the floor, and revérénce. Miss Rosemary first describes and demonstrates steps like plié, tendu, suté, chassé, and grande jeté, then leads her class through each step to the accompaniment of original piano music by Bruce Stephen Foster. Because the program covers a large variety of steps and progresses fairly quickly, it is most effective when used in conjunction with enrollment in an introductory ballet class. Alternately, young dancers may want to view the video in short segments, then follow with ample practice time to ensure the correct execution of each individual step. In Tot Tap, Miss Rosemary Boross presents an authentic first-year tap class specifically geared toward children ages 4 to 6. Miss Rosemary covers a variety of basic tap steps like shuffle, dig, heel drops, toe taps, heel taps, and cramp rolls. She carefully details and demonstrates each tap step, then incorporates the steps into simple dances rehearsed by preschool-age, beginning tap students and accompanied by original, rhythmic music by Bruce Stephen Foster. This informative, 30-minute video can be used alone or in conjunction with enrollment in a beginning tap class. Junior Jazz is an introductory jazz dance lesson aimed specifically at children ages 4 to 6. Teacher Rosemary Boross covers four styles of dance within this "jazz" presentation: hip hop, musical theatre, rock, and swing. After demonstrating and explaining the individual steps within a combination, Miss Rosemary invites young viewers to dance along with her, two young adult helpers, and a small class of preschool children. Each dance combination has an animal theme like "Hippo Hop" and "Jungle Monkey Swing" and is set to fun original music composed by Bruce Stephen Foster and Brian Sepel with lyrics by Boross. --Tami Horiuchi |

Sandra Boynton's Rhinoceros Tap is a loopy good time--delicate piano ballads swoon over unloved peas all alone on a plate ("O Lonely Peas") and the pink-nosed object of a lovesick mouse's affection ("I Love You More Than Cheese"); a penful of pigs dig into a doo-wop celebration of their "fabulous swine" selves ("Perfect Piggies"); and a Dylan-esque dog bids his pack adieu with the mournful line, "It's sad but true/I'm 6 years old, but I feel 42" ("So Long, Doggies"). Best of all, skeptics who guessed that Boynton's first CD, the star-studded wacko revue "Philadelphia Chickens," succeeded so brilliantly because she had an army of celebrities behind her are dutybound to shush. There is but one singer here, the pleasantly even-keeled Adam Bryant, and though he lends these 15 numbers a likability that may not have translated without him, it is Boynton's crackpot wit, as well as the winning arrangements she pieced together with musical partner Michael Ford, that de! serves full credit for the way the songs winnow themselves into listeners' brains, be they 3 or 34. --Tammy La GorceTags : Rhinoceros

Director Marty DiBergi (Rob Reiner) solemnly alerts us to the glory that was Spinal Tap in his introduction to this "rockumentary" about the legendary British heavy-metal group, featuring lead guitarist Nigel Tufnel (Christopher Guest), lead singer David St. Hubbins (Michael McKean), bassist Derek Smalls (Harry Shearer), and a succession of drummers whose careers were cut short by spontaneously combusting on their stool, drowning in somebody else's vomit, or otherwise perishing in untimely fashion. Under DiBergi's studious interrogation, the band and their familiars retrace the band's evolution from head-bopping Mersey Beat poseurs to head-banging metal poseurs, each change in musical direction or tonsorial chic having little effect on the surviving trio's sublime idiocy. For, as St. Hubbins (he's the "deep" one, relatively speaking) sagely observes, "It's such a fine line between stupid and clever."Happily for us, director Reiner, who developed the underlying story line with Guest and former Credibility Gap pranksters McKean and Shearer, stays squarely on the right side of the line, even as his writer-actors remain hilariously trapped on the other side. In lieu of a formal shooting script, the quartet created an extensive and detailed band history ripe with the sort of dead-pan detail that hard-core rock historians and screwball aficionados will savor on countless replays; with the three Tap members also musicians themselves, the "band" developed its stage act under the unsuspecting noses of L.A. club denizens, who accepted them as just as loud, flashy, sexist, and obvious as any other mullet-tressed, leather-garbed brigade of guitar slingers, circa 1984. The resulting footage thus manages to lob its punch lines and build its characters (including some thinly veiled character assassinations of various industry folks) with a loose, tossed-away verve rooted in the improvisational approach. This Is Spinal Tap remains the funniest, and most truthful, look at rock culture ever filmed and a personal best for all involved. --Sam Sutherland |

For anyone who thought the Oscar-winning documentary March of the Penguins was the most marvelous cinematic moment for these nomads of the south, you haven't seen nothing yet. Happy Feet is an animated wonder about a penguin named Mumble who can't sing, but can dance up a storm. George Miller, the driving force behind the Babe (and Mad Max) movies, takes another creative step in family entertainment with this big, beautiful, music-fueled film that will have kids and their parents dancing in the streets. From his first moment alive, Mumble (voiced Elijah Woods) feels the beat and can't stop dancing. Unfortunately, emperor penguins are all about finding their own heart song, and the dancing youngster--as cute as he is--is a misfit. Luckily, he bumps into little blue penguins and a Spanish-infused group (led by Robin Williams) and begins a series of adventures. Miller has an exceptional variety of entertainment: Busby Berkley musical numbers, amusement-park thrills, exciting chase sequences (seals and orca lovers might like think otherwise), and even an environmental message that doesn't weigh you down. Best of all, you don't know where the movie is going in the last act, a rare occurrence these days in family entertainment. A fusion of rock songs, mashed-up and otherwise, are featured; this movie is as much a musical as a comedy. Mumble's solo dance to a new version of Stevie Wonder's "I Wish" by Fantasia, Patti, and Yolanda may be the most joyful moment on camera in 2006. --Doug Thomas On the DVD More Happy Feet
