Ceramic knives offer exceptional strength, unparalleled sharpness, and ultra-light weight. An Oriental-style santoku knife is just right for sushi and sashimi, slicing mushrooms or anything else that needs to be sliced paper thin, mincing ginger, and scoring meat and fish. The paring knife is the ideal tool for peeling, paring, and cutting fruits and vegetables. And, because ceramic doesn't transfer metal ions to foods, fruits and vegetables won't brown where they've come in contact with the knife blade. The razor sharp blade retains its original sharpness for months or years without sharpening. The light weight of ceramic creates a well-balanced knife that is an extension of your hand, gliding effortlessly through even the most difficult tasks. The resin handle provides a highly controlled grip, and the non-stick ceramic blade surface makes for easy clean-up.Gift-boxed set of 2: 5½" Santoku knife and 3" paring knife, with black blades and handles. The strength and density of fine ceramic allows grinding to microscopic precision by diamond wheels. This hardness translates into a rock-like edge which retains its edge 10 times longer than conventional steel blades. Made in Japan. Five year limited warranty against breakage (does not cover cutting bones, prying, or flexing). Contact us for re-sharpening service. |

Maybe this music by Prince & the Revolution will never quite sound as, well, revolutionary as it did in 1984 (and nothing else has ever sounded like the extraordinary cooing and fluttering of "When Doves Cry"), but it's a pop landmark in Prince's Artist-ic career. The hit movie was really just a big-screen showcase for Prince to perform these songs (some of them in tear-the-roof-off "live" versions set in a Minneapolis club). I don't know why that warped sermonette introduces "Let's Go Crazy" (one thing you've got to love about Prince: he's always been weird), but somehow I'm glad it's there. Other highlights include the sexual scorcher "Darling Nikki" (with its crazy backwards coda) and that anthemic title tune. Don't you miss Wendy and Lisa, too? --Jim Emerson |

Techno Source puts a whole new spin on a classic toy. Based on the famous Rubik's Cube, the Rubik's Revolution offers six fast-paced electronic games packed in one cube with lights, sound effects, and increased levels to keep you playing this gadget for hours. Rewarding fast hands and fast thinking, this electronic toy is recommended for all ages 5 and older.
Built in the exact shape and size of the original Rubik's Cube, the Rubik's Revolution features six different colored sides -- each with its own game. Unlike the original toy, the sides of this plastic cube don't rotate to solve a single puzzle. Instead, each fixed face of the cube has a lighted button in its center square. When you turn on this electronic toy, the talking cube asks you to press a color button for one of the six games. This robotic woman's voice also calls out the colors and gives you your score at the end. 6 Fast-Paced Games Like the memorable game of Simon, "Pattern Panic" challenges you to memorize and repeat a growing sequence of lights. Logic and reason could help you crack the secret code in "Code Cracker," while "Cube Catcher" is a race against the clock to turn off as many lights as possible. Last but not least, "Multiplayer Madness" lets you compete against your friends. Passing the cube back and forth, you have to turn the lights off faster and faster before time runs out. The last player not eliminated is the winner. Fun, Easy, and Addictive |

This big and sometimes messy movie achieves the seemingly impossible: it demythologizes the American Revolution and lets us see it in a completely new light. Hugh Hudson (Chariots of Fire) has directed a starkly beautiful, powerfully visceral portrait of war from the point of view of the little people who are swept along in its wake. Al Pacino is Tom Dobb, a poor, illiterate trapper bringing up a young son when rebellion breaks out in New York. Dobb's small boat is requisitioned for the war effort, and he and his son become reluctant conscripts. It takes six months and some truly vile treatment by the British before the conflict becomes personal for Dobb and he makes the American cause his own. The Dobb family's tale intersects that of British Sergeant Major Peasy (a formidable Donald Sutherland) and his own son. As the tide of the war turns, the enemies' fortunes are reversed. Tom's love interest, Daisy McConnahay (Nastassja Kinski), is a fiery beauty who breaks from her family of wealthy Tories (British sympathizers) to fight for freedom. Kinski is wonderful as a living Lady Liberty, and Pacino has some extraordinary moments of raw emotion as Dobb. The film's highlights include authentic, grisly re-creations of famous Revolutionary War battles, including Yorktown and Valley Forge. This movie will draw you in, gradually but inexorably, as it creates its convincing and compelling world. --Laura Mirsky![]() Tags : Revolution

Looking for an overview of the American Revolution akin to Ken Burns's The Civil War? Look no further! Liberty! The American Revolution successfully takes a unique, detailed peek into the 25 years of events that led to the establishment of the United States of America. The British are not painted as rigid "bad guys," nor the colonists as the rebellious "good guys." Instead, it correlates the complicated struggle between Britain and the American colonies to a stern mother and her teenage child longing for independence. Beginning after the French and Indian War (1763), Liberty! kicks off with the issue of taxation, the colonies' revolt, a declaration of independence, war with the British, eventual victory, and the establishment of a country and constitution unlike any in the history of mankind. The men and women involved are portrayed by actors and actresses reciting original documents, letters, and articles from the times. Well-edited, these soliloquies create an interesting feeling of conversation and continuity, almost as though you are getting a firsthand account of the events as they unravel. Though there are good battle descriptions (particularly Gen. Washington crossing the Delaware, Gen. Burgoyne at Saratoga, and Cornwallis at the Battle of Yorktown), the emphasis of Liberty! is on policy, events leading to war, deteriorating relationships, and ongoing governing challenges rather then actual military strategy. Nonetheless, this documentary is as exciting and interesting as any historical movie you will likely see, and a lot more accurate. --Rob Bracco |

This is a brand new in the box civilian model gas mask. It is designed to keep you alive in the event of a nuclear, biological or chemical attack. It is imported by Evirstar Defense Products and has a model number of GP-5.
If comes with a new unopened filter and inserts for antifogging.
It even comes with a very cool military looking bag with long strap. My daughter immediately discarded the mask and made off with the bag. Its definately cool if you are into that sort of thing.
It is further designed so that when you inhale the filtered air clears your eye ports of moisture. Very smart.
I have small, large, and extra large so please let me know which one you would like. You generally want this mask to fit tightly so as to exclude any outside air from entering around the rim. However they tend to fit smaller than they are. Im barely a large but still wear an extra large.
Also I now have childrens masks so please state if you would like that. |

This circa early 1970's Tuocha is a real pleasure to drink. The leaves break apart by hand, which is a true sign of this tea's age. Wet leaves are dark and rich smelling, typical of a tuocha's small leaf base. Well stored without any off tastes, this is a winner. About 90 grams.
This tea has been well kept and most likely comes from a state run factory in the height of the Cultural Revolution. The weight of these varies slightly from one to the other. The range is from the mid 80g to 100g. Please understand each varies slightly. This is a sheng (raw) tea, and the leaves are very dark when steeped with some deterioration. Many other old teas exhibit the deep dark wet color, there is no off or dank taste with this tea. This is a piece of history that reveals a far away forest taste with hints of ginseng/herbal notes. Lasts 5-10 infusions if done well and quickly. There are no original wrappers on the tuo's. The paper wrapper was added later to help preserve the integrity of each tuocha. The rice paper wrappers are stamped with a traditionally inked chop indicating "Aged Pu-erh Tuocha tea". For those that are in search of Pu-erh teas with qi, this one delivers. We recommend a full 10g per leaf set to realy unleash the depth of this historic tea.
Leaves can be infused 4-6 times, and each successive cup is as full and hearty as the last.
Pu-erh teas are aged before they are consumed, unlike other teas which are meant to be consumed shortly after production. Pu-erh teas are at least 1-4 years old, but can also be aged for more than 50 years! Over this time, Pu-erh teas ferment, which leads to their earthy flavor, as opposed to the flavor of oolong or black teas, which comes from oxidation. Pu-erh teas are unique among tea varieties because they do not lose qualities after a year or two, but rather gain in value, and are classified by connoisseurs by year of production. |
