In this section Johnny sings "As Long as the Grass Shall Grow" which was written by Peter LaFarge, Oliver LaFarge's son (there is a rumor that Peter was adopted by Oliver but it isn't true, for more information on him please visit peterlafarge.com). Oliver won the Pulitzer Prize for his 1929 book "Laughing Boy," a love story set that takes place the Navajo Nation and was the fist Native American novel to receive this honor. Johnny and June returned to this song when Johnny was working with Rick Rubin in "Unearthed Vol. 2 Trouble in Mind" where they rewrote it to tell their own love story.
