QUESTIONER: "Governor Huckabee has been going around that if he's elected president that he will eliminate the IRS? [...] Secondly, religion has become very much involved in your politics. If you get to be president, the question has arisen about pastors and ministers encouraging who to vote for. Would you see it to that they lose their tax status."

JOHN MCCAIN: "And frankly the attacks that Governor Romney has unleashed on him. I just don't think the people of Iowa like to see all these negative attacks. Governor Romney is doing the same thing to me in New Hampshire. A whole deluge of attack ads. That's been his history."

"[Gov. Huckabee] has embraced the FAIR tax. I believe that, if you really scrutinize it, according to the Wall Street Journal there's some real downsides to that."

"As far as the influence of the Christian Right...I've always said that if you think there's some inordinate influence on our party...And elect candidates that more closely reflect your views. I think the Republican Party is a big tent party. There's room for all of us and I hope everyone will be engaged."
