EPIPHONE LES PAUL STANDARD GUITAR [SUNBURST] - BROKEN HEADSTOCK REPAIR
(me repairing my guitar!)
Materials:
- Clamps
- Tape (optional... I wanted to make sure I made the least mess possible on my pretty guitar, so I taped off a large section of the guitar.)
- Titebond ORIGINAL glue (I used this: http://www.woodzone.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=323063&Category_Code=glue
- Newspapers (makes the mess easy to clean up.)
- Wet Rag(s)
- Dry Rag(s)
- An extra pair of hands! (optional... but very helpful.)

[Before starting, I removed the headstock hardware: tuners, truss rod cover, screws, etc... And cleaned the surface, as well as took off all lose pieces of wood. This should be the first step. PLEASE USE THE LINK: IT WILL GIVE YOU BETTER INSIGHT INTO THE PROCESS.)

So the story goes: a local luthier (who's now sort of a friend because we go there sooo much and he's really cool) had a bunch of broken headstock SGs and Les Paul that he bought in bulk from GC for cheap. The guitars were all being shipped from the factory when they were damaged in shipping, so they were 100% new from the middle of the neck down, with stickers and everything. So, I looked at all of them and he said I could pick the one with the cleanest break ( ). After going through them, I picked a sunburst Epiphone Les Paul Standard with a realllllly nice break. $95 dollars.
